Whistling Wizard started development in February 2020 for their first game, Rose and Locket. This New Zealand-based indie developer is working on a beautiful and enticing game that offers outstanding artwork and a compelling storyline.

Rose and Locket is a contemporary side-scroller that transports you to a different world. This game has far-reaching potential and an intriguing storyline. The developers have surely put a lot of work into this. From the second I started playing Rose and Locket I could see the incredible vision they are working to bring to life. I was mesmerized by a variety of landscapes and how easy it was to be immersed in the world of the Underwest.

Rose and Locket features a gunslinger named Rose who is trying to save her cursed daughter. She is challenged to defeat wanted criminals to rescue her daughter from the locket her soul is trapped in. Rose has a few unique weapon options and features to work with throughout the game. Timing is essential while in combat—most often involving dodging—and while that may be difficult for some, there is a plan for a story mode for those who want to simply enjoy the cinematic beauty of Rose’s captivating story.

Whistling Wizard has not announced a release date for Rose and Locket yet, but plans to have this game available on PC in the next year or two. I personally believe that Whistling Wizard has a lot to offer and that this will be a game to watch out for.
