PAX East 2023 was full of indie gems. Here are some games we thought we’d mention in addition to the games we were able to fully cover.
STRAYED LIGHTS by EMBERS
This beautifully immersive RPG explores a dark and oneiric world of rampant nature and corrupted cities as players fight their inner demons and restore balance. Strayed Lights is slated to be released on Apr 25, 2023 to PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Microsoft Windows (Steam), Xbox Series X, Series S and Xbox One with a demo available on Steam.
WRESTLE STORY by TIC TOC GAMES
Wrestle Story is a turn-based RPG where you can ‘LIVE YOUR PRO WRESTLING STORY’. The game includes an expansive 3D world where players are able to create their own unique wrestler and build a tag-team to slam their way to the top. Wrestle Story will be available soon on Steam.
GUDNAK by CHAOTIC GREAT GAMES
An interactive, living card game set in a dying world, Gudnak is a tactical game played on a physical 3x3 grid. Each deck has different stories and features in the factions it is based on. We got to play their prototype at PAX East, and the developers are sharing updates on the game’s progress on their Instagram and website.
PEGLIN by REDNEXUS GAMES
Peglin is a Pachinko Roguelike where players can fight enemies by collecting special orbs and popping pegs to deal damage. Acquire special relics that radically change the game and ensure no two runs are the same. Aim carefully to survive in this unique turn-based RPG! Peglin is available now in early access on Steam.
COFFEE TALK 2 by TOGE PRODUCTIONS
We at Game Raven Review were already fans of Coffee Talk (see our previous coverage!) and were excited to see the sequel at PAX East. Planned for release in April 2023, this coffee-brewing and heart-to-heart talking simulator will be available on Nintendo Switch, PS4/5, Xbox, and Steam.
FEUDAL LANDS by SERFWORKS STUDIOS
Feudal Lands is a medieval siege warfare game that combines crafting, base building and attacking, territory control, and large-scale wars. The game is set in a medieval world where players must navigate the challenges of survival and siege warfare. It will be cross-platform and available on Xbox, PS5, PC, and Steamdeck. There is no set release date, but you can follow along on their website or Steam.
