Born and raised in Dallas, TX. Martha's first contact with electronic gaming was on the Windows 95. The earliest PC games she remembers playing as a kid were Sim City, Jurassic Park (remember floppy disks!?), SkiFree, Rodent's Revenge, and Comic Zone. In 2001, she was introduced to her very own Nintendo 65, which she still has to this very day. Since then, Martha's developed personal flavors of gusto, thirst for adventure, and wholesome squishiness to her gaming style with her loved ones. Growing up as a middle child in a large family, she learned to get along well with others and has incorporated play into many aspects of her life. Digging further into the human experience, Martha's involvement in social work and music therapy within the past five years has deepened her appreciation for games that combat and challenge damaging ideas of supremacy and exclusion and its negative effects on the mental and spiritual health of our society. She is drawn to gaming experiences that encourage us to heal and to embrace the humanity in all of us. Martha is a musician and songwriter who creates an engaging atmosphere for older adults in an assisted living community. When she's not working, she enjoys kayaking, meditation, and developing uplifting connections with others.
