MAGWest 2023 PANELS
Indie games: What makes them "indie" these days? Is it a feeling, a set of requirements, just a label to stick on your games? Can a game age out of being an indie? Come debate the meaning of indie games (and maybe indie music too, but not the meaning of life) and how popular culture and independent culture seem to collide in this interactive discussion.
The world of indie games is wild. Laugh (or cry) with writers and streamers from Game Raven Review as they explore some of the most ridiculous and obscure indie games they can find. We'll discuss what makes these games enjoyably whimsical or just plain weird and discover how the indie game genre fosters such incredible creative freedom. While this is a repeat panel of 2022, we will be featuring all new games that weren't mentioned last year- we promise!
They're bold. They're sexy. They're gruesome and gory. Indie games come into the gaming world with less boundaries than your big name AAA studios, and we've found some ridiculous indies along the way, including some that are best left for the older audiences. Come explore the worst of the worst (or, uh, best of the best?) indie games that we had to save for after the kiddos went to sleep. (18+ Panel)
