NECTARMANCER
Developed by The Beauty Cult, Nectarmancer is an arcane gardening sim, action platformer, and character-driven gardenvania. You play as Asia, a young Nectarmancer in charge of planting, pollinating, and caring for the nectargenic plants worldwide – all in service of The Thorne. But something is amiss: The Thorne has been abusing the delicate nectar cycle, has put the world in great danger, and has angered the spirits. The fate of the world now rests on your shoulders.
On your journey to destroy The Thorne, you’ll encounter Spirit Bosses throughout the world who hold the key to unlocking powerful new nectarmancy. You are not alone on your quest, however: the plants you have lovingly cared for are your friends and your tools. These plants and their latent nectarmancy allow you to build a planet-scale biological computer that you can use for research on your path to save the world.
I noticed this game because of its beautiful art and cinematic camera work. I’m always looking for dark and cozy games and this game is right up my alley. Nectarmancy is full of beautiful pixel art, bright coloring, and ambient lighting, all enhancing its spellbinding story. I recommend this game to anyone looking for a farming sim with compelling combat and a rich story of restoring the balance of power to a corrupt world.
